Edward J. DeMarco

Acting Director, Federal Housing Finance Agency

On August 25, 2009 President Obama designated Edward J. DeMarco the Acting Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), the regulator of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and the 12 Federal Home Loan Banks effective September 1, 2009. Mr. DeMarco was appointed Chief Operating Officer and Senior Deputy Director for Housing Mission and Goals for FHFA in 2008 after enactment of the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008, the legislation that established FHFA. Mr. DeMarco joined the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight (OFHEO), a predecessor agency to FHFA, in October 2006 as its Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Director. He came to OFHEO from the Social Security Administration (SSA) where, as Assistant Deputy Commissioner for Policy, he led SSA's policy, research, and statistics functions. Before joining SSA in 2003, Mr. DeMarco was Director of the Office of Financial Institutions Policy at the U.S. Department of the Treasury where he oversaw analyses of public policy issues involving government sponsored enterprises and other financial institutions. Prior to his ten-year tenure at the Treasury Department, he worked at the U.S. General Accounting Office for seven years. Mr. DeMarco received a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Maryland and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Notre Dame.

Teresa Bryce Bazemore

President, Radian Guaranty Inc.

Teresa Bryce Bazemore is president of Radian Guaranty Inc., Radian Group Inc.'s principal mortgage insurance subsidiary. In that capacity, Bazemore helms all domestic and international mortgage insurance business operations. Previous to her presidential appointment, Bazemore was EVP, general counsel, chief risk officer, and secretary for Radian Group, a global credit risk management company. Prior to that, she served as SVP, general counsel, and corporate secretary for Nexstar Financial Corporation and director of legal and corporate affairs for MBNA Home Finance (after the MBNA acquisition of Nexstar). Ahead of those posts, Bazemore served as general counsel of Bank of America Mortgage, general counsel of PNC Mortgage (a subsidiary of PNC Bank), and as associate general counsel at Prudential Home Mortgage. She launched her legal career as an associate at Piper & Marbury (now DLA Piper), after serving as a law clerk to Chief Justice Robert Wilentz of the New Jersey Supreme Court.

In 2011, the Philadelphia Business Journal honored Bazemore with its 14th Annual Women of Distinction Award. In 2010, Black Enterprise magazine named her one of the 75 Most Powerful Women in Business. Bazemore also nabbed the 2010 SmartCEO Magazine Brava! Women Business Achievement Award, to name but a few of the notable accolades she has received over the years.

In addition to her corporate role, Bazemore serves on the General Assembly Mission Council of the Presbyterian Church USA and on the boards of directors for Public Radio Capital, the National Senior Citizens Law Center, and the Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce. She previously was as a member of the Consumer Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve, the Fannie Mae National Advisory Council, and the Mortgage Bankers Residential Board of Governors and served on the American Association of Residential Mortgage Regulators advisory committee.
